COMMUNITY LEADER DANIEL MEDINGER
ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR HOUSE OF DELEGATES
HOWARD COUNTY, MD – Today business owner, Daniel Medinger, announced he is running for the Maryland House of Delegates in Legislative District 9B.
“I am running for the House of Delegates because Ellicott City needs a new, positive voice,” Mr. Medinger said at a kick-off announcement on Monday, June 12.
“We can build on Maryland’s legacy of success and address new needs to keep us growing toward a productive and prosperous future. Business as usual is not going to be enough,” Mr. Medinger said.
Mr. Medinger is running as a Democrat in the district that includes much of Ellicott City.
“I am running to represent the people of Ellicott City. In the coming months, I will be meeting with them across the kitchen table, in backyards and while knocking on doors,” Medinger said of the campaign ahead. “The people of this district deserve to have a representative that is included in the important decisions that are made in Annapolis that affect them.”
He and his wife, Patti, own Advertising Media Plus, a Howard County communications firm. A distinguished journalist and a successful publisher, Medinger also is a successful entrepreneur that created jobs and served needs.
He also has worked in the non-profit sector. “I like to help people and I like working with people who help people,” Medinger said of his career in the non-profits. “We need to make sure that opportunities are available for everyone to fulfill their dreams.”
He said that he has a productive relationship with elected officials – nationally, state wide and locally – that will benefit Ellicott City. “We need to collaborate to encourage innovation and ideas that will ensure a brighter future,” Medinger said. “We can do better and we will.”
He said that his campaign will promote a “culture of optimism. The values of Howard County and Maryland call for leadership that looks forward. I have heard from people who want better representation and I look forward to providing it,” he said.
